the herb is the best home remedy I’ve found for my anxiety. Make it a ritual experience. Light an incense or some candles, put on some music and hold in the hits for as long as you can. This technique is also like deep breathing just with smoke. If you don’t feel like using the herb you can follow these steps only with regular air.
    1. take in as much air/smoke as your lungs will hold through your nose(or mouth if smoking)
    2. hold it in for as long as you can, without causing dizziness or blacking out!
    3. as slowly as possible let the air/smoke out through your mouth focusing that this air/smoke is all of the negative thoughts causing your anxiety, and they are leaving your body.
    4. repeat steps 1-3 as many times as needed!

I’ve struggled with anxiety since i was 11 and have found this to be the best home treatment. Hope this helps

ok..so did you know that weed can cause high anxiety…higher than the normal..i have panic attacks..and i learned a trick off a show that i watched..greys anatomy..
when you feel a panic attack coming on..or that feeling you get..
hug yourself hard..and if someone is with you..then have them hug you sideways…tightly..but not to tight to make you feel pain ….that releases some type of endorphins in your brain and relaxes you…it always helps me..another is to gag your self..it does the same thing,

First, I’ll say I hope your not looking for some concoction of household liquids that will do the magic trick. If this was the case, someone would be rich. Everyone has some sort of anxiety.

One of the main contributors of anxiety is a feeling of being overcrowded and mentality overwhelmed. I suggest you go to a space where you feel comfortable ,a place where there is enough “space” for you, and relax. Also you can do whatever hobbies you like that can keep your mind busy. I like to exercise to relieve stress. People tend to think exercise is only good for staying fit, but it also allows you to release pent up aggression and energy in a constructive way. It not only makes you physically stronger, but mentally stronger. Btw, smoking anything is not good for your health and can lead to another mental issue. Addiction. I know you have heard that a million times, but now you heard it one million and one times.

Walking, jogging, light weight lifting, or if you want to let it all out, get a punching bag and some gloves and burn it off.
Anxiety exists with inaction, so get busy. :)

    Hello,

    I suffered with anxiety for years and this is my favourite technique;

To begin with when you start to experience anxious thoughts, it is very important not to force the thoughts away. Let the thoughts in. The more comfortable you can become with them, the better. These thoughts will never go away fully but what you can learn is to change your reaction to them.

For example you are enjoying the way your day is going but then all of sudden a fearful thought comes to mind. Before you would react with anxiety to the idea and then try to force that thought out of your mind.

This time, however, say “That’s a fear of X. I could worry and even obsess over that but this time I’m going to do something different. I’m not going to react to it. I’m also not going to try and stop it either. I’m just going to label the thought and not react.”

    -Observe it,
-Label it (fear of whatever), then
-Watch it as it passes by with no judgement.
    then
-Move your attention on to what you were doing.
    Observe, Label, Watch, Move on

If you are a more indoors type of person then instead of thinking of the thoughts like clouds passing in the sky, you might try imagining a large cinema screen and the anxious thoughts are projected out onto the screen in front of you. Play around with this approach. Find what works for you.

The key thing to remember is to Observe, Label, Watch, Move on

By practising this approach you gradually stop reacting with fear to the thought and you learn to treat it as nothing more than an odd peculiarity.

I actually bought into an on-line program and gave it a go. I wouldn’t normally go for that kind of thing but it had a money back guarantee. It worked for me.

    I hope this helps

Hey Jennifer, I am very sorry to hear about your anxiety. Check out this link for tips on ways to reduce anxiety http://www.solacecounseling.com/_blog/Drug_Rehab_Blog/post/5_Ways_to_Reduce_Anxiety/ If it persists, I recommend seeking help from a trained professional. It could be generalized anxiety disorder (GAD). GAD is a pattern of frequent, constant worry and anxiety, even about everyday activities and events. Even when a person with GAD is aware that their worries are stronger than they should be, they may still have difficulty controlling them. Hope this helps!
