Your mind is a very powerful tool. It has the power to affect your entire body simply with its thoughts and through the mind-body connection. As was stated above, emotional stress results from your thoughts and perspectives. If stress can be created by your thoughts, then stress can simultaneously be eliminated by your thoughts.
Positive psychology is a school of psychology that focuses on maintaining an optimistic, but realistic out look. It is a perspective that focuses on strengths more than weakness: automatic stress relief. Challenges allow us to walk one of two paths: the way of an optimist or the way of a pessimist. The pessimist, by nature, has an uncanny ability to spot potential problems and pit falls. They are seldom surprised by misfortune because they anticipate it. In doing so, their scope of reality is limited.
Joy, happiness and all things positive aren’t enjoyed because a pessimist possesses a horrible skill: they can find a negative twist to any positive. Believe me, I was one of them before I learned this stuff! That’s why I created the Total Bliss Program!
Pessimists are often greatly affected by external stress, and even more so by emotional stress due to their manner of thinking and their ability to make an undesirable situation into a horrific one.
An optimist, on the other hand, is one who looks at life with acceptance. Problems arise, but problems often are viewed as opportunities for growth. They have great skill in their ability to turn negatives into positives – unconcious stress relief. They are seldom stressed, because they are well equipped to combat external stress via their lively and uncanny ability to find the good in any situation.
They are often far more healthy, energetic and successful than their negativity-inclined counter parts. It is a simple but difficult truth that our thoughts and perspectives write our response to the world’s unending test. Life is far from perfect and stress stimuli know no end. Our outlook, be it positive or negative, dictates the extent at which emotional stress and the stress response can destroy our bodies.
Friend, for today, guide all thoughts towards the positive (and notice the affect)…
